Preface
1. Declaration
of Principle
1.
That our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh is
the sole and absolute authority in all matters pertaining to Faith and
practice as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each Church has
liberty, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer
the Laws.
2. That Christian Baptism is the immersion in water into the Name of
the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, of those who have professed Jesus
Christ who "died for our sins according to the Scriptures was buried,
and rose again on the third day."
3. That is the duty of every disciple to bear personal witness to the
Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take the part in the evangelisation of
the world.

Responsibilities of a Church Member
1.
To live a life consistent with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. To share each Sunday, unless unavoidably prevented, in the corporate
worship of the Church and to be regular and faithful in attendance at
the Lord's Table.
3. To live in the spirit of Christian fellowship, with all other members
of the church.
4. To pray for the work of the church, both privately and through the
meetings arranged for corporate prayer.
5. To be actively involved in the work of the church according to our
calling, gifts and opportunities.
6. To recognize that, at the Church Meeting, we seek the guidance of
the Holy Spirit for the life of the church. Thus, it is a privilege
and duty to be present, unless unavoidably prevented, at every Church
Meeting.
7. To give regular financial support to the work of the Church at home
and overseas.
8. To endeavour by personal effort to encourage others to come to church.

Constitution
1. Name
of the Church.
The church shall be known as QUEENS ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH, BROADSTAIRS.
It shall be affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain and Ireland,
and the local Association, and shall be consist of those who have become
members in the manner indicated below.
2. Membership
(a) The membership shall be open to all who profess repentance towards
God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and whose lives bear evidence
of their Christian profession. Members are usually received after Believers'
Baptism.
(b) Members shall be received from other Christian Churches by letter
of transfer or commendation, such applications to be approved by the Church
Meeting.
(c) Those desirous of joining the church shall apply to the Minister,
Church Secretary or any deacon. Their names shall be brought forward at
a Church or Deacons' Meeting and after visitation and a satisfactory report
by two members of the church shall be voted upon at the next Church Meeting
and, if elected, receive the right hand of fellowship at the Lord's Table
on the first convenient Communion Sunday.
3. Church Meetings
(a) The church shall meet for Christian fellowship and for the transaction
of business of the Church at least four times a year, a quorum to consist
of one-fifth of the Church membership. Notice shall be given of all Church
Meetings at both services of worship on the two preceding Sundays.
(b) A special Church Meeting may be called at the discretion of the Minister
and a majority of Deacons, or the written request of twenty members. Notice
of such meetings shall be given as above.
(c) Those members present at the Church Meetings shall be entitled to
vote.
